2025.10.24 Youth Square – Match 2

Fire Chicken & Samson Tai vs Fat Cat Siaki & I.I. “The Beggars’ Gang”

On August 31, 2024, I.I. lost a brutal steel cage match and was forced to shave his head completely.

More than a year has passed since that night.

Naturally, many expected his hair to have grown back by now.

However, when he appeared at Youth Square, he looked exactly the same as he did that day.

Instead of quietly erasing the past, he chose to carry it with him.

In its own way, it felt like a strangely stylish decision.

The members of “The Beggars’ Gang” were also behaving exactly as usual, loudly demanding “donations” from the audience.

Seeing them again brought a sense of familiarity to the venue.

Across the ring stood two challengers from China: Samson Tai and Fire Chicken.

This was their first appearance in HKWF, but the crowd welcomed them warmly.

At the very least, they never looked like they felt the pressure of being in enemy territory.

Hong Kong fans have a remarkable openness, and moments like this remind you that the spirit of the city itself is reflected in its wrestling audience.

The Role of the Second Match

In my opinion, the second match of a wrestling show is where a promotion’s true quality is revealed.

Professional wrestling is not only about intensity or strength.

If the opening match is the spark that grabs the audience’s attention, the second match needs to provide contrast.

It should offer something different.

A change of pace.

A different kind of entertainment.

The greater that contrast is, the more skill it requires from the promotion.

And HKWF clearly understands this balance.

Fat Cat Siaki Takes the Stage

Among the four wrestlers in the ring, Fat Cat Siaki immediately stood out.

Almost as if he understood the role of the second match perfectly, he began pulling the audience into a world of laughter.

One moment in particular had the crowd roaring.

He forced the handsome Fire Chicken into his armpit, leaving him in absolute agony.

It was the kind of universal comedy that works in any country.

No words were needed.

Everyone understood the joke instantly.

When the Mood Suddenly Changed

But that cheerful atmosphere did not last forever.

Near the end of the match, I.I. had Fire Chicken pinned down while Fat Cat Siaki climbed to the top rope.

Then disaster struck.

Fat Cat Siaki launched himself from the corner…

and accidentally crashed directly into his own partner.

Even se7en, another member of The Beggars’ Gang at ringside, immediately began scolding Fat Cat Siaki for the mistake.

Taking advantage of the confusion, Fire Chicken rolled Fat Cat Siaki up for a quick pin.

The match ended in an instant.

A Crack in The Beggars’ Gang?

The victory was clear.

But something else lingered in the air.

For a long time, The Beggars’ Gang had appeared to be a united group.

Yet as Fat Cat Siaki stood in the ring repeatedly apologizing for his mistake, it was impossible not to feel a little uneasy about what might come next.

Was this simply an accident?

Or the beginning of cracks within the group?
